Second Skin began with something small: the cases wrapped around phones. At first glance, they appear purely functional, yet they quietly reveal how people choose to protect, decorate, or conceal parts of themselves. What starts as a simple observation becomes a reflection on identity, intimacy, and everyday attachment.

The project is shaped by conversations and shared stories. Some people never change their phone cases, allowing them to wear down over time. Others cover them in stickers, building layers of memory and expression. Some choose to go without a case entirely. These subtle decisions reflect habits, personalities, and emotional relationships with objects that are touched every day.

Through photography and design, Second Skin documents phone cases as quiet extensions of the self. The book shifts focus away from the object alone and toward the individuals behind it, revealing how ordinary digital accessories can carry personal meaning and emotional presence.
